Are Males the Worst Flatmates?

I have lived with both males and females. It's not that females make better flatmates, it's just that males make them seem preferable.
Granted, I shared with girls in a boarding school environment. You must also keep in mind that I currently share a very small flat with two overgrown boys. My opinion is VERY bias.
But in short. Yes. Yes they are.
A recent blog survey (http://blogs.smh.com.au/crowdedhouse/archives/2008/09/mummys_boys_an_all_too_common.html) on the Sydney Morning Herald website had the following replies...
Mummy's Boy: n. 3. colloq. A young adult male who, though supposedly living out of home, never really left the nest. Generally found in the lounge room or living room of his parents' house. Characteristics include absences from share house at dinnertime, clean and fabric-softened clothes and a lot of time spent on the telephone. Ever lived with one?
"My brother-in-law is definitely one! He flew with me to my wedding, being held in the Cook Islands. I couldn't work out how he could have so much luggage, way more than me and I was the bride. It all became clear when we got there; he had brought 17kg og washing for his mum to do while we were there!"
"I once had the pleasure of dating (and living with) one of these species. Said boy would (like clockwork) go back to his parents' house every Friday night after work and return to our house on Sunday night. He would stay in his old room over the weekend - hanging out with dad and being fussed over by mum. He would take the weeks worth of washing with him for his mum to do."
"I live with a bloke that would come across as a hard mongrel. Just to make jokes about his mum and her over caring ways, "that's why I had to get out" he would tell us. Yet, his jeans had creases, his chirts were always pressed and just about every Monday morning he would sneak back to her place on the way to work and "borrow" $20. Rotten prick never bought back any of her home cooking for us though."
It is, essentially, the same thing over and over again.
One of my housemates ventures home every weekend to go to work. But, here's the catch. He doesn't when his parents aren't there! He will drive the hour long drive along Picton Rd and down Mt. Ousley, late at night, just so he could have a cook meal (usually prepared by yours truly) before he climbs into bed 'so exhausted' from his strenuous day at work. Please!
I find that boys don't have any real concept of, well, ANYTHING! Girls on the other hand understand when they need to shower, do a load of washing, eat, vacuum, etc.
The only downside to living with girls is that fact that our menstrual cycles synchronise when we live together for extended periods of time. But it was at that point that we knew to leave each other alone. Boys just nag MORE at 'that time of the month'.
I honestly believe that I deserve the right to plead 'menstrual insanity' if I kill one of my housemates at any point during my PMS rants!
